The U.S. Economic Outlook: How Much Life After the Election?
The U.S. recovery is slowing down, but only to trend growth. Although the outlook for 3.5% growth, 5% unemployment, and 2% inflation may be disappointing to some, through the 70s and 80s we would have considered it a daydream. The Fed will continue to tighten, however, gradually bringing interest rates back to "neutral." The risks remain high, and center on the Middle East, oil, and terror.
