October 17 through Tuesday, October 19, in Tucson, Arizona,
promises to offer information-packed sessions and excellent
networking opportunities. The University of Arizona,

Profile: Haas Center for Business Research and Economic
Development, The University of West Florida
Located in Pensacola, Florida, and established in 1994,
the Haas Center collects, analyzes, and distributes
economic data to business, government, media, nonprofit
organizations, and individuals. In addition to publishing
its quarterly report, Northwest Florida Economy, the
center specializes in data analysis for the purposes
of industry research, business expansion, tourism, and
real estate development, as well as academic studies.
Sonny Cushing leads the 10-member team, which combines
academic credentials with varied experience, ranging
from business analysts to media specialists. Cushing's
academic research centers on the banking industry and

Spring Meeting Valuable for AUBER Attendees

Once again, the National Association for Business Economics
(NABE) and AUBER cosponsored a spring meeting in Washington,
DC. With a good mix of general and concurrent sessions,
the March 25 and 26 conference, titled "Economic
Policy in Transition," featured policymakers, analysts,
and practitioners discussing a wide variety of topics.
