Westward Ho! Onward to Tucson
The NABE/AUBER sessions organized for the spring meeting
in Washington, DC, were top-notch. The meeting will be a hard
act to follow. AUBER's fall planning committee, however, will
do its best to offer interesting sessions that will meet the
needs of our diverse group of research communicators. Although
we're still in the planning stage, I'd like to share with
you some of the confirmed sessions.
- Joseph Curry, president of Sawtooth Technologies, will
describe mixed-mode interviewing and its uses, how to create
a mixed-mode questionnaire, how to create a sample database,
how to execute and monitor the progress of a mixed-mode
survey, what the telephone and online versions of a mixed-mode
survey look like, and how to export data for analysis.
- Representatives from the Bureau of Labor Statistics will
give an on-line demonstration of their extensive web site.
- A panel of four AUBER members will discuss strategies
they use to successfully market their centers.
- Production editors from three academic journals will discuss
criteria used in accepting manuscripts for publication.
I look forward to seeing you in Tucson.
