Fall Conference 2015

The 68th annual AUBER conference was held in Orlando, Florida October 10 - 13, 2015 and was hosted by AUBER member the Institute for Economic Competitiveness, College of Business Administration, University of Central Florida. The 2015 conference, titled: Partnerships and Regional Economic Development - "Where the Magic Begins", examined the current applied research approaches in regional economic development. This conference highlighted innovative collaborations between government and private industry professionals, identifying the role they play in developing of social infrastructure, healthcare, transportation, higher education, environment, and real estate. Fall Conference 2014

The 67th annual AUBER conference was held in Portland, Oregon, October 11 - 14, 2014 and was hosted by AUBER member the Northwest Economic Research Center, College of Urban and Public Affairs, Portland State University. The 2014 conference featured an in-depth look at the regional economies of the country, cutting edge methods for research communication, and sessions on environmental policy, new data products, and cutting-edge research papers. The conference also features interesting speakers at our working meals: Robert Kleinhenz, Chief Economist of the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation; Rich Wobbekind, Associate Dean and Executive Director of the Business Research Division, University of Colorado; and, Diane Lim, Chief Economist with The Pew Charitable Trusts. Fall Conference 2013

The 66th annual AUBER conference was held in Richmond, Virginia, October 13 - 15, 2013 and was hosted by AUBER member the Center for Economic and Policy Studies, Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service, University of Virginia. The Center for Economic and Policy Studies: dedicated to applying economic analysis to the design, implementation, and evaluation of public policy and to providing a better understanding of local and regional economies. The conference, held at The Omni Richmond Hotel & Convention Center, with Dinner and Entertainment in Colonial Williamsburg on Monday. Fall Conference 2012

The 65th annual AUBER conference was held in Honolulu, Hawaii, October 28 - 30, 2012 and was hosted by AUBER member the Economic Research Organization at the University of Hawaii (UHERO). The mission of UHERO is to inform public and private-sector decision making through rigorous, independent economic research on the people, environment, and economies of Hawai'i and the Asia-Pacific region. The conference, held at The Hilton Hawaiian Village, featured dozens of content rich sessions in three separate tracks, see the program here. The conference included a field trip around the island of Oahu followed by a dinner and show at the Waikiki Aquarium.

Fall Conference 2011

The 65th annual AUBER conference was held in Indianapolis, Indiana, October 8-11, 2011 and was hosted by Ball State University, Purdue University, and Indiana University. The conference took place at the Indianapolis Hilton in downtown Indianapolis and had a special theme - The Business and Economics of Sports - reflecting Indianapolis' role as a major epicenter for both professional and collegiate sports. There was a field trip to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, now celebrating the centennial of the Indy 500 race. To see an overview of what occured and some presentations that were given go here

Fall Conference 2010

The 64th annual AUBER conference was held in Charleston, West Virginia, October 16-19, 2010 and was hosted by the West Virginia University Bureau of Business and Economic Research. The event was held at the Charleston Embassy Suites Hotel and coincided with the peak of the fall foliage in the Mountain State. The traditional AUBER Monday afternoon/evening event featured a motor coach ride from Charleston to the New River Gorge. Following a visit to a coal mine, the motor coach journeyed to Tamarack, which features the best of West Virginia artisans.

Fall Conference 2009

The 63rd annual AUBER conference was held in Austin, Texas, October 18-20. Hosted by Dr. Bruce Kellison of the IC2 Instituteís Bureau of Business Research at the University of Texas at Austin, the conference took place at the historic Driskill Hotel located in the heart of downtown Austinís entertaining 6th Street. A number of panels highlighted research on a variety of border issues, from security to trade and tourism.
