About the AUBER Peer Review Service

Have you ever needed some structured feedback on a research report before sending it to your sponsor? Have you ever wondered whether an article or piece of analysis was hitting the mark you intended, or simply wanted to improve a research product?

Current members may submit their work for confidential, blind review by fellow AUBER members. Authors receive structured feedback and a seal of approval to add extra credence to their work.

Features

  • One complimentary use per year available to current AUBER members. Additional use offered for a fee.
  • Review process should take ~14 days.
  • Material under review remains confidential.
  • Double-blind process whenever possible—identity of authors and reviewers are withheld by the Editor.
  • Receive an approximately 2-page review with an AUBER seal that can be displayed in the final research product.

Review Contents

Authors can expect to receive structured feedback that considers the following:

  • Is the report well-organized, well-written, and easy to understand?
  • Does the report contain all of the components one would expect (Introduction, Methods, Theory, Analysis, Recommendations, etc.)?
  • Are the sections well-developed?
  • Does the report do a good job of synthesizing the literature (if applicable/appropriate)?
  • Does the report answer the questions it sets out to answer?
  • Is the methodology clearly explained?
  • Does the theory connect to the data?
  • Was the reviewer convinced by the results? Why or why not?

How to Get Started

  • Authors should contact the AUBER Peer Review Service Editor (John Deskins, West Virginia Univ.) to begin the process.
  • The Editor coordinates with members within relevant subject areas to arrange confidential peer review.
  • After submission, reviewers have 14 days to complete and return their feedback.
  • The Editor sends the compiled review to the author, along with the AUBER seal of approval as appropriate.
