Conferences

AUBER’s annual conferences feature sessions on emerging topics in business, economics, and public policy and allow attendees to connect and network with economic research leaders from peer institutions. At the conferences, attendees discuss the latest research, projects, and studies that might be relevant in their own states.

Don’t miss the opportunity to discuss cutting-edge research and communications strategies, meet new people, and discover new opportunities!

Boise, Idaho is a lively metropolitan area bordered by the Boise foothills and the Owyhee Mountains. The Boise River cuts through downtown and is lined by plentiful trees. With luck, the leaves will be in full color during our October conference!

A cultural hub for gastronomy, museums, theatre, music, and festivals, Boise is also home to one of the largest Basque communities in the United States. The Basque Block is a five-minute walk east of our conference hotel, The Grove Hotel.

2025 Fall Conference — SAVE THE DATE!

Oct. 4-7, 2025 • Holiday Inn Missoula Downtown • Missoula, MT

Plans are currently underway for our 2025 Fall Conference in the mountains of beautiful Missoula, Montana. Mark your calendars and set your sights toward joining AUBER in Big Sky Country next year!

Nestled in the Northern Rockies of Montana, surrounded by seven wilderness areas and at the confluence of three rivers, Missoula is an outdoor enthusiast’s dream. You can kayak, raft or tube through downtown or take a relaxing hike in 60,000 acres of wilderness minutes from your hotel. Missoula is known for its blue-ribbon trout fishing (made famous by A River Runs Through It) and spectacular natural beauty. The outdoor recreational opportunities are limitless.

Missoula is also a regional destination for shopping and dining, featuring three distinct shopping districts and an abundance of restaurants, cafes, coffee houses and breweries with something to fit all budgets and palates. Known for its eclectic culture, visitors will find this arts and culture hub filled with a seeming endless array of arts and entertainment events. Think symphony, theatre, film festivals, author’s readings at independent bookstores, college sports, ballet, opera and roller derby. And we proudly live our history – Native American and Lewis & Clark to Smokejumpers and Glacial Lake Missoula.

The 2025 conference will be hosted by the University of Montana’s Bureau of Business and Economic Research.
