The Gary W. Rollins College of Business at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) invites applications for a non-tenure track Professor of Practice to serve as Director and Chief Economist of the newly created Center for Regional Economic Research (CRER) to begin August 1, 2023. This appointment is renewable given satisfactory performance and budget.
The CRER seeks to be a leading resource for economic research, development and entrepreneurship in Chattanooga and the surrounding region. The Center connects the Gary W. Rollins College of Business with the local community and serves an academic mission to educate students and energize research on local economic issues by mentoring graduate and undergraduate students in real-world local projects while they complete their degree programs.
The mission of the CRER is to serve as a think-tank that conducts high-quality, data-focused economic research, analysis, and visualization on Chattanooga and the regional economy as a public service and on a fee basis for clients from the community.

This position directs a high-visibility research program in Health Care Industry Research with significant outside funding. The incumbent is expected to conduct peer-reviewed research and communicate findings to the public in non-technical language, including presentations at the Montana Economic Outlook Seminars. He/she must be able to attract grants, contracts and other outside funding and direct the development of the program, working with others in the BBER in a collaborative manner. Growth in the program, including the addition of staff and/or supervisory responsibilities, are under the Health Care Director’s direction.
The position directs the Health Care research program at the BBER, and, as such, is responsible for its direction and growth. The hiring and supervision of additional staff that can be supported by the income stream of that program is completely consistent with this role.

The Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey seeks to hire a full-time, non-tenure track Professor of Professional Practice at the rank of either Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor depending on qualifications, for appointment beginning April 2023. The position involves teaching and applied research in regional economics, regional development policy, forecasting, input/output analysis, spatial economics, and/or public informatics. The position involves applied research to support (1) economic impact analysis of projects, policies, and events on the regional (New Jersey) economy; and (2) forecasts of future economic conditions in the New Jersey region.
